The Little Jeep Company that Could Turns 6!

Posted by Jean Wnuk on Mon, Aug 31, 2009 @ 10:16 PM

Yup, that's us. We're 6 years old, this month. But enough about us!

How are we going to celebrate? By making this a great  month to be an All Things Jeep customer! We have good stuff planned all month long. I don't want to be one of those companies putting up Christmas Trees in September, but you just might want to consider holiday shopping a bit early.

Here's what is planned.

First - FREE Standard Shipping on all Jeep Products Sitewide, no minimum or maximum this week (through September 6th 2009). This is for USA shipping addresses and you'll need this coupon code: 6YEARS

Next, we'll be doing a buy 2, get 1 free special. After that, a great giveaway, great sales, and along the way, lots of freebies thrown into your boxes. (But we can't include birthday cake, it will get smooshed. Sorry.)

So hopefully you'll celebrate with us. Whether you make a purchase this month or not, please remember that we would not be here without you and it really is the customers that make a business. And we've got fantastic customers. Thank you for keeping our business growing.

Jean, Norman, Sue, Mike, Marc, Corinne & Sierra

(I really need to get a photo of all of us so you can see our goofy faces but here's Sierra - she's the cutest!)

A Jeep Love Affair: Jeep Dogs!

Posted by Corinne Customer Service Manager on Sat, Jul 04, 2009 @ 07:59 PM

I started my three day weekend with a lazy morning. A sink full of dishes and laundry begging to be done, but I'm playing on Facebook and enjoying a breakfast burrito. It goes without saying that I'm a Facebook fan of www.allthingsjeep.com . Here's our All Things Jeep Facebook Page.  www.facebook.com/allthingsjeep

Today I checked out the post about the Jeep Dog photo album on our website. There are a whole lot of awesome, adorable and adventurous Jeepin' pooches out there. I know some dogs are good off-road and others would rather spend the day at home, and I wonder how my own 4-legged princess would fare on the trail.

Delilah, my 3-year old bull dog/akita mix could go either way, I think. She can get frustrated on long car rides, but loves all the different smells to be smelled bouncing down the road. Lila's favorite ride is to my in-laws house; we pass a dairy farm, a park that's always full of kids and a roadside seafood stand. So, I think she would stay entertained on the trail. I do worry about her being up for the bumps and confusing angles that come with a good rock climb.

I worry about her safety, too. I've been day dreaming about the mods I'll do when I find that perfect Jeep. One of the first things I want is to make my rig safe and comfortable for my princess. Of course, there's always a good supply of dog toys in my ride at any given moment -- even when she's not in the car. Bones and Jeep rugged rubber or nylon dog toys can turn up at any moment. Lila's very content to hang out in the backseat with all those toys -- really, she hates riding up front -- so we've never needed any kind of barrier between us. However, if we hit a good bump, could she come flying forward? Do we need a barrier net? When she gets bored, sometimes she'll put her head on the center console to be petted. I think I would miss that as much as she would. Maybe, a barrier net's not for us. We will definitely need cargo net, though. Lila's never tried to jump out an open window, but a topless Wrangler has a lot more open space than a window. What if she lost her balance and fell? Or thought she was supposed to jump out? (She is part bulldog, you can't give her too much credit on these things.)  A good cargo net - http://www.allthingsjeep.com/asp-3141.html - should do the trick, right? My princess doesn't wear a collar around the house -- her neck is a really thick and foldy -- so it looks strange and matts her fur -- but when we go out, she has to wear her ID tag with my contact information and her rabies tag. Should she wear a brightly colored bandana on the trail just in case? When I lived in Maine, every dog I knew spent Spetember-December sporting some kind of orange gear. I saw some harnesses that clip to the seat belt, but I wonder if they would be too restrictive. Do I need a top net? I don't think she could jump that high, nor have the inclination to do so. Would I need to add anything special to my first aid kit in case she did get hurt? I'm so overwhelmed! When did taking the dog on a car ride become so complicated?

Let me know what you do to keep your Jeep dog safe and happy in your rig! How could you say no to this face?

A Jeep Harness Photo Album

Posted by Jean Wnuk on Wed, Mar 25, 2009 @ 10:52 AM

Just came across this forum thread:

http://www.dachsie.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=54726

No Wonder we've run out of these Jeep Harnesses.

No get your mind out of the gutter and go back to work.

BTW - I think those little hot dogs are adorable! (And my daughter wants one. Least I'll then have a dog we can dress up. Our black lab Sierra always looks humiliated when we put t-shirts on her.)

Some of our best friends are Hummer Owners.

Posted by Jean Wnuk on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 @ 12:50 PM

This past week, to celebrate our birthday, we've been throwing extra goodies into our customers' orders when we ship out the boxes. Some of those goodies have been some of our old bumper stickers that we no longer sell.

Today we got this email from Norm:

I received the decals that I ordered (see below) today.     Thank you for giving me my laugh of the day.  Enclosed was a free "Hummer Recovery Vehicle" decal.  The 'paved roads' sticker is going on a Hummer H1! I am president of the Canadian Hummer Club.   Somehow I don't think my Hummer friends would like to see the yellow "Hummer Recovery Vehicle" with the Jeep towing the Hummer on the back of my vehicle.   I'll pass it on to the next Jeep Rubicon that I see!   Norm London

18-Sep-2008

Hello,

Thank you again for ordering with All Things Jeep. We appreciate your business.
Your order has shipped!

The items that have shipped are listed below.

==============================================

Ordered: 1 Shipped: 1 ATJ30922 "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads" White Decal $4.25
Ordered: 1 Shipped: 1 ATJ30169 Paved Roads Decal: Another Fine Example of Unnecessary Government Spending Sticker $5.00
==============================================

So, a little lesson here. Some of our best customers could be HUMMER OWNERS! But now I've learned my lesson, not all Hummer owners are uptight, stuffy, never been off pavement 4x4 owners. Some have a sense of Hummer, oops, I mean HUMOR.  So a shout out to Norm and his Hummer buddies up in Canada. Have fun out there!

Jeep Dogs Contest Update

Posted by Jean Wnuk on Tue, Sep 02, 2008 @ 06:31 PM

Wow wow wow. Actually, I guess I mean woof woof woof.

We have over 380 Jeep dog photos in our Jeep Dog Days of Summer Contest at this point and the contest is officially closed.

You can check them all out here:

And despite the fact that this was a dog contest, we got a few Jeep cat entries, a Jeep ferret entry and believe it or not, a Jeep goat entry (but my email crashed and I lost the Jeep goat entry before I could post it so Mr. Goat, if you are reading this, please sent the photo again. It was cute.)

Some of these photos could make your heart melt. I mean, seriously, I have spend too much time over the past month and a half watching the slide show over and over again. I have my personal favorite photos and now I'm going to bug everyone else here in the office to pick out their favorites. We'll sit down for our weekly Friday office lunch and pick out a few winners.  Then post them to the site. But while you are waiting, you should look at the album and add your own comments to the photos.

All in all, the one thing I've learned about Jeep dogs is that they aren't all big. There are actually Jeep dogs that will fit in your glove box!

And look at this cute pooch.

RE: Jeep Dog Days of Summer Contest

We've gotten all sorts of entries for this contest but this one is so funny I had to post it. Enjoy.

"Hi There, Just couldn't decide which picture to send.  We have 3 dogs who love to go jeeping, Annie, Petey and O.D.D.  Annie and O.D.D. are rescue dogs that love any attention they can get. O.D.D. stands for Other Damn Dog, cause he was the last one we got and couldn't remember his name.  He came with the name of Kibbles and we changed it to Kirby, but kept calling him Hoover  (wrong vaccuum cleaner).  We now just call him O.D. for short, but it causes some reactions in the vet's office when they come out and ask for Odd.  People really look at us like we are odd.  People also look at us a little strange when we are jeeping down the road with 3 dogs.  We are done dragging home dogs now cause we can't fit anymore in the Jeep, however we do have 3 Jeeps, so if only one of those dogs could drive we could drag home a few more.

For more great photos of Jeep dogs and a chance to enter your own Jeep dog in our Jeep Dogs Days of Summer Contest, visit our photo album here: http://www.allthingsjeep.com/jeep-dogs-contest.html.

And if you remember reading "Go Dog Go" when you were a kid, didn't you just LOVE the page with the big dog party up in the tree? All the confetti and noise makers and cake and presents. It was my favorite page in my favorite book. Guess that's way I always have loved dogs. Because of that page!

Top Jeep Dog Contest Begins Now!

Posted by Jean Wnuk on Tue, Jul 15, 2008 @ 04:45 PM

Our Jeep Dog Days of Summer Contest begins today.

We want to see YOUR Jeep Dog!

Ok, here's the deal. Simple enough. Send us a photo (just one or two per pooch, please) of your Jeep dog. How will we know your pooch is a real Jeep dog? Why, he'll be riding in the CJ, or running through a rock garden, or belly deep in a mud puddle, of course. Or, she'll be chomping a Jeep chew toy, or wearing a bright red Jeep collar. Or maybe your best friend will be wearing a Jeep t-shirt (and looking cool in it.) One thing is for sure, though, your dog won't be wearing any of those sissy pink tutus that those poor NYC dogs have to wear when they go out to the park. We mean, even if your dog is a little one, they can still be a real Jeep dog.

Send us some photos!

So get those cameras out and start snapping some photos. Send them to sales @ allthingsjeep.com and maybe...

YOUR dog can be crowned TOP JEEP DOG OF 2008, complete with a Jeep Toys Gift Basket Grand Prize and a $50 Gift Certificate for you!

We'll even have a few runner up (in case the winning pooch can't fulfill their doggy duties as reigning top dog).

You'll find all the info you need on our Jeep Dogs Days of Summer page here:

http://www.allthingsjeep.com/jeep-dogs-contest.html

May the best pooch win.

Size matters when it comes to Jeep dogs!

Posted by Sierra (the dog) on Thu, Feb 07, 2008 @ 03:53 PM

Sierra here. Today at All Things Jeep a box arrived. And it squeaked. Turns out it was some yummy new Jeep squeaky toys for me, a dog. I was saddened to learn they weren't all for me. But I got one. This one.

Jeep Dog Bone Toy (this one doesn't squeak but it sure tastes good)

And when my owners weren't looking, I ripped a hole in one of these bags so they had no choice but to call it a loss and hand them over. Jeep Tennis Balls - Whee!

But forgive me for saying, but what the heck is this thing?!! And what fits in it, a "mini-dog"?  Jeep "Urban Traveler" Dog CarrierI'm concerned. Would a Jeep owner actually have a dog this size? Would Jeep owners actually carry their dog around in this pink thing? Call me crazy but I don't see it. I have a bet going with the humans at ATJ that this thing is going to dusty on the shelf. What do you think? Weigh in. I have a whole pound of bacon riding on my bet, so humans, don't let me down. Woof.
